School of Civil & Architecture Engineering hasa history of more than 30 years , inwhich a characteristic talent-cultivation system in the field of Geotechnical Engineering and Aseismic Structures has been achieving. Four  Master's Degreeprograms,including Civil Engineering, Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, Civil and hydraulic Engineering, Geological Engineering, have been granted.  As for undergraduate education, there are three undergraduate majors, which are Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, and Urban Underground Space Engineering.


There are 82 members in SCAE, including 6 Professorsas well as 56PhDs. Researchteam of “Protection of Civil Engineering” and teaching team of “Mechanics” are in operation.

Talent Cultivation

We focus our student training to serve local economic and industrial construction, giving students a solid theoretical foundation, wide range of knowledge, and strong practical and innovative abilities. Our graduates can start a careerof research, technology, design, or management work in the enterprises or research institutions, such as Nuclear Industry Construction Group Corporation of China, China Railway Group, and China Construction Industry Group.


Civil Engineering experimental teaching center has an area of 1,050 m2 . It was established in 2002 and has 13 laboratories with more than 600 devices worth over 16 million CNY. The laboratories are equipped with advanced systems, such as high temperature and high pressure servo rock triaxial testing system, compression-shear comprehensive experimental system for structural engineering, and large digital direct shear instrument. Moreover, the laboratories are also equipped with superior devices like microcomputer controlled electro-hydraulic servo universal testing machine, resonant column tester, and triaxial test system for unsaturated soils.


Recently, our school has made prominent academic and scientific progress in soft soil mechanics and soft soil foundation treatment, stability and disposal technology of high slope, composite structure, recycled green concrete structure, seismic resistance of steel structures, structural monitoring of large bridges, stability of surrounding rock of underground cavern, and underground disposal of nuclear waste. Based on these features, lecturers and researchers in our school have undertaken about 50 national, provincial and ministerial research projects, were granted 66 national patents, and published more than 100 academic papers and books.  

International Exchange

Our school actively engages in international academic exchange and cooperation by sponsoring international conference attendance, study abroad, and short-term exchange. We also encourage our lecturers and researchers to contribute to international issues, five of whom are the reviewers of international academic journals.


Students have achieved excellence in different national multi-disciplinary competitions, such as Architectural CAD Competition, National Challenge Cup Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, National BIM Computation Competition of Secondary and Higher Education Institutions, and BIM Construction Management Sand Table and Software Application Competition. These activities are related to the local economic and social development.
