TANG Bin, male, professor, PhD supervisor. Prof Tang serves as the director, as well as the chief scientist, of the State Key Laboratory of Nuclear Resources and Environment in ECUT. Tang also heads the Engineering Research Center of Nuclear Technology Application in ECUT, under the Ministry of Education of China. In addition, he plays a management role in ECUT as the vice president. Tang holds a doctorate in physics, and has been active in both teaching and research involving topics ranging from nuclear technology, nuclear geophysics, to computer-based science and applications. He made profound contributions to the detection of uranium resources and nuclear radiation in environments, where he participated in developing the fundamental theory and methodology, and led the efforts building the related instruments and facilities. Tang has won 9 scientific awards, including the State Science and Technology Progress Award (the Second Class, ranking the first place), the Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (the First Class). Apart from those scientific awards, Tang has been honored by 6 Jiangxi provincial awards for his outstanding teaching services. Besides, he has won 50 granted patents, including over 30 invention patents. In addition, Tang published several academic books, including “Stratified interpretation method of g well logging”, and “Principles of nuclear radiation detection”. He also wrote 8 defense-related textbooks and industry standards, and authored more than 300 scientific papers. Due to the persistent endeavor in science research with excellent output, Tang has been sponsored by the State Council Special Allowance. He is also selected as one of the Outstanding Mid-aged Experts in the nuclear industry. He has joined as a Leading Talent in the “Gan Po Elite 555 Project” of Jiangxi Province. He is chosen as the First and Second-class talent by the “New Century Talents Project”. Besides, Tang is listed as one of the Mid-aged Academic Leaders in China. Furthermore, Tang acts as the director of multiple provincial- and ministry-level groups for research and innovation. He also serves as the vice executive director or an executive member of more than 10 domestic academic organizations. In addition to the academic activities, Tang leads a staff group which has been certified as a National Huang Danian-Style Teacher Team of Higher Education Institutions.
