XU Deru, male, professor, PhD supervisor. For the first time, a new concept of Intracontinental Reactivation ore deposit-type” was proposed by Prof. Xu, and it was believed that the intracontinental tectonic-magmatic reactivation was the main mechanism of gold polymetallic enrichment in South China. Prof. Xu innovatively proposes a new genetic understanding of the BIF type deposit of the largest iron-rich ore in Asia-Hainan Shilu iron polymetallic deposit, which is transformed by structure and hydrothermal superposition, and establishes the metallogenic model of this type of deposit. A joint composite structural ore-controlling model and a three-dimensional prospecting geological prediction model for fold superimposed (shear) faults in large gold, iron, tin, lead and zinc polymetallic ore fields and large coalfields in South China have been established, and breakthroughs have been made in deep- and edge seated prospecting, providing a number of strategic mineral resource reserve bases for the country. Prof. Xu has won 3 first prizes and 2 second prizes of the Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards, published more than 200 papers and 5 monographs. He is also the deputy editor-in-chief of the authoritative international journal of metallogent Ore Geology Reviews, the chairman of the Nuclear Resources and Environment Committee of the Geological Society of China, and the vice chairman of the Structural Physical Chemistry Committee of the Chinese Geophysical Society.
